Gemma Tibbatts, resident paralegal here at Regan Peggs Solicitors, has been shortlisted for Paralegal of the Year 2019 in the Birmingham Law Society Legal Awards – the most prestigious industry awards in the Midlands region.
The Paralegal of the Year award celebrates individuals who exemplify the value that a paralegal can bring to a legal team, and who have contributed not only to their own firm’s success but also on the wider professional stage. A historically popular category, Paralegal of the Year is a highly competitive award, typically attracting a large number of nominations from which just five are selected as finalists.
Gemma’s shortlisting reflects her dedication to professional development, both within our firm and as an active member of Birmingham Law Society’s Student Committee and the Birmingham Trainee Solicitors Society (BTSS), as well as her passion for removing the barriers to diversity within the legal profession – to which end she acts as a volunteer mentor for the Social Mobility Foundation (SMF), a charity supporting disadvantaged 16-17 year olds through facilitation of access to further education and graduate-entry jobs.
Shortlisted nominees will undergo a rigorous interview process, with the final winners announced at the annual Birmingham Law Society Legal Awards event in March, hosted this year by acclaimed newsreader Huw Edwards at the Birmingham ICC.
We are incredibly proud of Gemma for the significant achievement of being shortlisted and wish her the very best of luck for the final. Well done Gemma!
